Nice laptop. Useful. Of course not the most powerfull but enough for sending mails, taking videocalls and some other simple activities for work. If you looking for something more complex, like gaming, maybe this is not the correct option. But if your activities are not so demanding, this will run good.

First of all Amazon has conflicting specs for this laptop. The title is accurate but specifications are wrong. The X415EA has 128GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. The specs say 256GB SSD, 128GB RAM, and a 4GB graphics memory size. The RAM is clearly a listing mistake as the Max RAM appears to be 2x8GB, although some sites list a max of 40GB when you add a 32GB stick to the onboard 8GB. Ultimately 8GB is ok for my kid's schoolwork. The SSD issue is unfortunate. 256GB is possible an is a default configuration in some markets. The graphics RAM is another mistake. The onboard Intel graphics on an i3 is not even Iris level and doesn't have dedicated RAM. Amazon would not offer any compensation in the form of a discount, a larger SSD, more RAM, or to exchange for a model that had the listed specs. The only option the agent would offer was to return the item and I could buy it again at a higher price (I got it on prime days) The agent eventually disconnected the call on me.

ASUS VivoBook 14 X415 Thin and Light Laptop, 14” FHD Display, Intel® Core™ i3-1115G4 Processor, Intel UHD Graphics, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB PCIe SSD, Windows 11 Home, X415EA-AS31-CA I bought this laptop for surfing and basic streaming (spotify and movies) and doc/spreadsheet editing and occasional webex/zoom conf calling. No gaming. Thats the purpose. This is absolutely the perfect cost effective laptop for you. It's NOT sluggish at all. i3 later gen processors really packs a punch. I have ZERO issues running these types of things simultaneously with chrome browser opened with several tabs. The screen is sharp and vibrant. They keyboard is OK -- i mean not perfect but the spacing and tactile feel is acceptable. Wifi connectivity seems reliable. Camera is sharp and in low light there is a tiny LED that shines when you cast the camera which is effective. Comes with windows 11 preinstalled. This laptop has one USBC port , plus three SS USB-A ports (thats pretty good). An HDMI out. And a 3 pole audio mic-headphone integrated miniplug. Generally runs WHISPER quiet. No touch screen but thats expected for this pricepoint. This laptop also has a fingerprint sensor. Actually is fabulous. Works lightning fast. I appreciate having it actually. Here are a few things that leave me wanting more though... 1. audio speakers is pretty pathetic... lacks any sort of presence and everything sounds hollow. Just use headphones 2. Mic is also "meh" ..it works OK.... but i prefer my own mic that is integrated with my headphones. 3. Keyboard has no backlight. Nor is there any sort of LED light for the dark (like lenovo). 4. 128GB NVME is a bit lacking. I recommend buying an SSD and giving yourself more space. 5. 8GB ram is OK but you CAN upgrade one more SODIMM..... With chrome 5 tabs open, spotify and whatsapp app running, i'm at already around 80% ram usage. So go for it, while youre in there upgrading SSD, throw in a cheap 25$ SODIMM for more ram (you might as well!!) Thre is no access port to install RAM/ssd. You need to youtube and learn how to open the laptop and install it. the SSD does require a special SSD sata adapter with a ribbon connector (easily found in amazon) and it will run you around 25$. 6. When i'm typing, i do find my palms accidentally causing input to the touchpad. This COULD be annoying but touchpad can be disabled if you opt to use external mouse. Overall i'm very pleased with this deal. I managed to find it for 350$ openbox. It does the job.

The Asus X415 comes in a few variants. This one is the 8gb version upgradable to 16gb total (perhaps 12gb usable while the rest goes to graphics? And works in dual channel mode), no touchscreen, but has an extra SDD HDD bay for even more space if needed. The screen is passable if not a bit warm, but viewing angles are great. Battery life is not good-- 2-3 hours of video or office work, but it also charges full in 1.5 hours. So not that big of a deal. Annoying big sticker near the trackpad is annoying, but oh well. Perfect for office work, writing, and lite Photoshop work. Can extend to TV easily with HDMI. Want to game, it can do that too, but you didn't buy this laptop for the FPS. It's just nice that you could play Stardew Valley in your downtime if you wanted to. :) The reviews here often refer many different models and configurations, so make sure that you check to see which version you're getting. The one I bought is awesome.
