I loved these on paper....

I'll start in the positive. This headset rocks in its comfort and build quality. Rests on the head well and feels premium. The mic is around 80% of what I could get out of my Blue Yeti X in terms of its quality, which is REALLY saying something in terms of headset mics. I LOVE this headset's functionality. Simultaneous Bluetooth and you can opt for the wired connection. Dual volume knobs for the 2.4ghz audio and Bluetooth connection. 110 hour battery life, and pretty lights at the cost of 80-90 hrs of that battery life. Lets get to the negative though. This is the most gamer looking headset I've ever owned. The sound from these after updating to the latest driver. I think it was 3.007 or something like that. It was TERRIBLE. It sounded soo sharp that the high end frequencies were ear piercing. It was tinny and just not desirable. There is a fix by disabling audio enhancements, in windows settings, it sounds normalish again. But no matter how I EQ'd them, they just felt lacking. That and it has CONSTANT disconnect issues at 24bit 96k audio. It frequently disconnected when attempting calls on discord as well. I do not like armory crate's software. There's just soo many quirks it has and sometimes options would be misrepresented. Like not having my EQ enabled when in fact it is toggled on in the software and needing to retoggle it. Stuff like that, but its soo frequent. I couldn't keep these with how much they cost and them being unreliable. It sucks because they should be a home run. I'd rather go for a much cheaper pair of Atlas Airs from Turtle Beach. They're more reliable and to my ears, sound better and have a wider soundscape just minus the convenience of a much higher battery life and simultaneous bluetooth. Maybe next time Asus.

great tech, weird shape and design.

I like the tech and performance of the Delta II, however, the fitment and design is a bit too gamery and odd. Dorito shaped ear cups not everyone and clamping force is not the strongest, with that said, it is comfortable enough and very light. Mic clarity is outstanding, and sound is great paired with Dolby Atmos profile, not required.

Great for what you get.

I have never written an Amazon review before but this headsets score is way to low. It is an excellent headset that I would highly recommend except for 2 specific reasons that’s someone might not like it. 1. The headset is quite large so if you have a small head definitely stay away. I have a medium to a large head and it’s still fairly loose on me even on its tightest setting. Secondly the headset is not great at keeping our external audio so if you are in a loud environment or you want serious noise cancelling this isn’t the headset for you. Besides those 2 points this thing is excellent the audio is great, the software is great (besides the sleep function not working currently hoping it gets patched soon), the comfort is top notch, and the microphone is crystal clear. Coming from a Razor Kraken v3 pro this thing is a huge step up and it’s a joy to use. The battery life is also insane I have had it for over 2 weeks and haven't charged it once it’s still at 50% and that’s using it all day. Definitely worth the purchase.

Feature rich headset but may not be for everyone

I have been testing this headset for 2 weeks now. This headset is definitely very feature rich but there are some things that may deter people away from keeping this headset. The Pro's mostly outweigh the cons if you don't mind a little tinkering. Pros: 1. Very light weight - one of the lightest headsets I have tried 2. Construction feels very premium despite its light weight. Has Aluminum Yokes for even better construction confidence. 3. The mic is very good with a caveat that I will point out in the con section. 4. Sound is decent enough with a caveat that I will point out in the con section. 5. Simultaneous Bluetooth - i wish more headsets in this price range has this.. 6. Multiple earpads included 7. Battery Life tremendous. - rated for 110 hours with RGB off 8. RGB is clean and not too in your face if you choose to turn it on. 9. Compact USB C dongle unlike steelseries nova headsets Now... for the cons. 1. No built-in memory for EQ saving - despite what some reviewers say. I tested this across 3 different pcs. Maybe it'll save going from PC to console. But from one PC to another PC, doesnt seem to work for me. Let's say you to install armory crate on a laptop to change your EQ settings. The settings will not save if you then move the dongle to your main PC. I have yet to test this on console. 2. Microphone - I did multiple recording (maybe window's sound recorder and discord sucks) and the microphone is LOUD as hell. Also, it sounds too boomy? I had to turn on voice gate to reduce the volume. Also, noise rejection is quite bad, it picks up everything lol. Turning up noise gate and noise rejection helps , but it makes your voice sound more compress? 3. Sound - it sounds pretty good with ONE big caveat. You have to make sure you go into your sound settings and DISABLE all enhancements. Theres something called Bongiovi Acoustics/audio enhancements that's adding some weird special effects to the sound making it sounds super tinny. The treble becomes super harsh with this on. Tested this on two different computers. I believe when you install armoury crate - this gets installed too. Tried this on a windows 10 vs windows 11 and it had the same problem. Turning it off reverts the sound back to normal. Also, it does not get as loud as other headsets such cloud III wireless and logitech g pro x (using windows drivers). 4. ARMOURY Crate- is needed to do any customization.. 5. Last Con is the "after purchase" support. As we know Asus does not have a great reputation for warranty support so take that for what u will. For a device where people constantly take on/off their head daily, the chance of damage is greater so after purchase support may be something to look out for.
