Nice displays!

I bought a pair of these to replace my old set and chose them because of a good balance of cost, versatility in connectivity and promise of color uniformity. I mounted them on hydraulic adjustable arms, but that's where I encountered one of my two issues I had. The VESA indentation was about 1/16" too small for the old mounting plates, so I had to get new arms. The stands were not of poor quality, in fact they were attractive and worked well, I just need the extra desk space. Connection options were varied and I had several options to connect my personal PC and work MacBook. I ended up using HDMIs with a special hub to extend both displays on the Mac and initially the daisy-chained DisplayPorts for my PC - the Thunderport option worked very well for the Mac (to only one display). After about a week the daisy-chaining DP port failed and that display was returned & replaced. While waiting for the replacement, I used separate direct cables for the DP-to-PC connection and have just kept that in place with the new display. The displays themselves are crisp and clean, very easy on the eyes at 75Hz refresh. Settings and adjustments are easily accessed with the front buttons and directional control nub/joystick. One annoying thing I don't know how to fix - I have backlighting LEDs on the backs of both displays which plug into the USB ports, and they don't turn off with the monitors on computer shutdown no matter how long I wait and hope. lol I have to turn both displays off manually. I'm pretty sure the USB power should be cut off when the monitors are asleep, but that doesn't happen. Any suggestions to remedy that would be lovely. All in all though, I'm quite happy with these.

I love this for portrait mode!

Most monitors are so wide that when you swivel them sideways, they feel ridiculously tall and skinny. The aspect ratio of this is much better for portrait and also gives me more space in landscape!

Poor USB Port Orientation

My ancient 24 inch HP finally started die. Finding 16:10 displays these days if difficult and this is one of the few still being marketed. I really wanted something around 42 inches but no one manufactures those except in the silly 16:9 ratio. The reason for choosing this particular monitor is the built in USB-C hub. What is extremely disappointing is the lack of a LAN port (the PA248CNV does have a LAN port). The other major design failure is the location and orientation of the IO ports. All of them point downwards. How many people stand on their heads to plug in cables. The ones in the back are inconvenient but only tend to be a problem in the initial setup. However the orientation of two USB ports at the front-bottom is just plain stupid. I ordered 'right-angle' adapters to install in these.

Bad quality control?

Bought 3 of these monitors and all 3 have dirt, or something, in between the LCD layers which cannot be cleaned. On the first 2 the dirt was about the size of 2.5-3 pixels, dimming the pixels significantly (and even partially dimming sub-pixels, like the top half of a green sub-pixel being much brighter than the bottom half). Ended up returning those 2 since the spots were, not center screen, but still in a 'normal viewing' area and not along an edge. For the 3rd one, the 'dirt' might be something like a really fine hair, it only slightly discolors very bright colors/white and is just barely above a bottom windows task bar. Probably wouldn't have even noticed it if it wasn't for getting 2 bad monitors before it. It probably wasn't worth the effort of buying 3 and returning 2, should have cut my loses after the 2nd one and went for a different monitor from a different company. It also might have a firmware issue, which I've confirmed happened on 2 of the 3 monitors I tried. When trying to wake my computer from sleep or changing my displays, there is about a 30% chance the monitor will freeze in sleep mode. It will be completely unresponsive to the buttons, including the power button, yet somehow will still pass through MST (daisy-chain display port). Even holding down the power button will not force it to turn off when it is frozen in sleep, I have to either flip the power switch on the back of the monitor or unplug it.

Unable to attach arm. Unable to remove insert. I will return it if I cannot set it up tonight

Directions or a YouTube video would be nice. No need to be this complex.
