The device was delivered in just a plastic open bag without the "included user guide" which was NOT included but stated in the original Amazon presentation.

The drive was fine. Worked as expected. But the packing was just in a plastic bag. Then Amazon put it in another extremely thin bag with no packing protection what so ever. First one they sent was no good (I assume with the bad packing job). Replacement seems to work well.

It works. All of them should work, and no matter how expensive, they all last 1-3 years. This is inexpensive and that's all I need. It does make a noise when starting which is not surprising considering the lack of protective packaging. This isn't 5 stars because it doesn't stand out as excellent, but it does work. In spite of the packaging. If I were to review that, this would get 1 star. A brown paper envelope, the dvd inside in a simple plastic sleeve. That's it. No bubble wrap, not even a padded envelope. Being a retiree from the USPS, I know how packages are thrown about and Amazon is no different. So it must have had some jarring around. Hopefully it lasts at least a year. This is the second of that model I've bought, the first lasting a bit less then a year. If I can get a year or more out of it I won't be upset. I have had an expensive dvd and it didn't last any longer than these cheap ones, and performed an almost imperceptible amount better.
