AsRock Rack X570D4I-2T Mini-ITX Server Motherboard AM4 PGA 1331 X570 AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation Series Processors

Struggled with the cooler installation, even bent the board once though, but still, it seems to work.

Work fine. RAM 128GB (32GB no ECC x4, SODIMM DDR4 PC4-21300) worked. Attention, UID button is not power switch. I have no 10G switch by now, but will buy it from now. This was nice trade.

The board itself seems to function fine, however the BMC does not. I received the board with outdated firmware on the BIOS and BMC. The BIOS upgraded fine and the BMC did not. Asrock support has been very helpful, but we have been unable to rectify the firmware issues. I am having to RMA the board.

Built as a Solidwords FEA Workstation: AMD Ryzen 9-5900X, 128GB ECC Sodimm, RTX 5000, Corsair H115i 280MM Water Cooler, Samsung 980 2TB & 870 500GB, Seagate 14TB HD, EVGA 850W Gold PSU. Pros: Super fast and stable 24/7 - Maxing out @ 75*C Supports 5900X and 5950X CPU 128GB 2933Mhz ECC / non-ECC SoDimm - Motherboard recognized without issue 2x 10GBe NICs IPMI functionality (similar HP ILO) 2x OCULink (8x Sata or 8x U.2) USB 3.1 Gen1 support SFF Case - Does not need ATX size case Cons: Only 1x NVMe M.2 on MB Only 1x USB 3.1 on MB - No std USB Ports for additional devices Additional Comments: Motherboard would not post with 5900X - BIOS for 5900X/5950X was just released in mid Feb 2021. Needed 3000 series CPU to update BIOS. Latest BMC IPMI Firmware is not recognized by motherboard. Attempted update via DOS and within BMC - both were not recognized by motherboard. SuperMicro support has not responded after 1week. Only LGA115x CPU heatsinks supported. Be careful not to mix the ATX 4-Pin power and Sata 4-Pin power - It accepts the same connector. Overall, I'm very happy with this configuration. It is doing an excellent job completing most models at least 4X faster than the previous 2011-v3 platform with an I7-6900K. All the engineers love this new platform. We will probably standardize on this CPU/MB/Memory/GPU configuration going forward. If Solidworks rewrites their code to truly support multi-threading, we may consider a higher core threadripper platform also.
