It is nice that it also serves as a sort of trouble shooting tool also, to indicate bad wiring. I've used this brand of receptacle/surge protector, etc., for years, but I seem to have given one away, and find that I wanted another one, so ... this did the trick for me. I'm very happy with it.

They are only 10 amp, so if you’re running a computer with 2900 watts or more they won’t work. My systems pull 13 amps and they pop the breaker.

Wish it was available with more plugs. Works exactly as expected for a 240V power strip.

It looks like it will do what I want. My US plugs seem to fit in fine. I'm traveling to the UK and Europe in a month, so I'll test it then. But it is HUGE. Bigger than any power strips I have at my home. I probably should have gotten one of the 3 outlet power strips instead of this one. It will add a huge amount of bulk to my suitcase.

I bought this surge protector to take with me to France for use with my laptop. It worked great (with a UK to FR plug adapter). I wanted a surge protector with a ground connection and one that I can reuse for my future overseas trips. This one can handle a voltage of 230V so it'll work in all countries. Of course, you'll have to buy the necessary plug adapter if the country you're in doesn't use the UK plugs. You'll get the best protection if you buy the plug adapters with ground connections (they're harder to find, but they exist!). That way you can be sure that your appliances are grounded regardless of which grounding standards are being used in the country you're in. This surge protector provides a protection of 750 joules which is higher than recommended. It also has universal outlets which means you can plug in appliances with any type of plug (except for the south african plug, I think). Overall, a very useful buy.
