If you are thinking that this drive will function like a normal jump drive with a lightning connector on it you are mistaken, it only will back up your photos/videos/contacts that are in the IOS native folders and can only be used by the SanDisk app. It does not work with the BlackMagic app or Final Cut Camera. So it is useless.

Pros: Nice size Love the color USB-C Cons: none Overall: I give this product a 5 out of 5. SanDisk is a well-known and trusted company for a variety of solid-state storage devices. They stay at the leading edge and this product is just an example. The USB-C connector is welcome as so many portable devices have USB-C so great compatibility, plus providing performance levels that USB-C provides. The 256 GB size is also a good size now a days. Enough space to clean out your photos on your phone and fast enough that you are not spending all day.

With everything moving to USB-C it is nice to have a flash drive that can utilize those higher speeds. While this flash drive doesn't have the highest performance out there (~400mb/s = 3.2gbps), it is still pretty quick. I tested this on Windows 11 and MacOS and it does work with both. I do like that the drive is retractable, this is my first USB-C flash drive that is retractable, my other ones are fixed in place. Overall, for ~$30, this 256GB (~250Gb of usable storage) drive has a good value. One thing I will note is that the USB-C itself is a little longer than needed. As you can see in the second picture. This may affect durability in a negative way, but time will tell.

I don't even remember the last time I bought a flash drive but decided to pick one up to back up important items and keep them on me in a physical state vs the cloud. Its a USB-C connection which is nice since most of my devices are USB-C now anyways. This does help with the speed of transfer and I was able to back up large amounts of data rather quickly. The 256GB size also allows for massive quantities of data as well. A HUGE step up from my 32GB flash drives from yesteryear. Build quality is ok, its rather cheapy plastic but to be honest, you don't need these to have heft nor weight to it anyways. The USB-C connector slides in and out of the housing. Not the biggest fan of this feature as its one more thing that could break in the future from prolonged use. The color of the flash drive was an interesting choice as well. The gradient is rather meh. Who are they gearing this drive for anyways? You're just backing up data, why do I need it "personalized" or "fun"? Anyways, its a flash drive, and it works.

This product is fast, seems to work really nicely, and seems like decent value for the price paid. I love that it is USB C which is clearly where these kind of products need to be. It is nice not to have to worry about some adapter working, and since all my products are Apple, I don’t really want or need USB A. It formatted just fine, data transfer seem reliable thus far, so far impressed. But now the downsides. I don’t know why they went to all this effort to do a gradient plastic color. Seems like a waste of time and effort, because it doesn’t look good. One color would have been fine. The mechanism that advances and retracts the USB C plug feels cheap and poorly executed. Which is also a reasonable description for the overall cheap flimsy plastic feel. So in conclusion it is a great product, encased in a cheap, ugly, plastic case. If they could address that, I think this would be an automatic five stars.
