I needed something longer than 1 foot and shorter than 2 feet. This worked out great. I just wish they would make it with threaded inserts for the mounting screws to simplify installation in a tight area.

I bought this dongle so that i could plug my ipod into the car stereo inside my center console. Simply dremeled out a rectangular hole the size of the USB and screwed it in to give a professional looking install. Been using this for 6 months with no problems. the only minor hitch with this is that the USB is flush with the mounting tabs on the side, so if you have a thick material that you are mounting this on, the USB might not make a solid connection. I only had to go through 2mm plastic, so it worked well for my application. You could probably remedy this by trimming or sanding the surface of the mounting tabs back if you wanted to.
