It does exactly what I need it to, which is be my firewall and router, without the wifi functionality. If you are in possession of an Access Point, or some other means to get WiFi to your network, then for this price, this router is a complete steal. With tons of functionality and the additional possibility of creating your own network hub with Omada, this is super great for tweaking with stuff. It is small in appearance, requires low amount of power, and fast. Overall great value, plus the firewall settings you can make specifically to switches and APs in the Omada controller (seriously, if you are building a home network or experimenting with it such as myself, utilize the Omada controller and the additional benefits that make this potentially even more secure than it can be on its own.

This is an excellent non-wifi router. I have a mesh wifi system, so this is exactly what my home network needs. I require some advanced features, most notably port redirection with source IP address filtering. The "source IP address filtering" is not something a lot "home" class routers do, though they like to imply they do support it. Anyway, basic initial setup was fairly straight forward and accomplished quickly. There are lots of Youtube guides out there to help you if you need. The source IP routing was a little tricky. I've done this on 3 different routers now and it's almost always a little tricky they way any manufacturer does it. The TPLINK documentation and support site was helpful in this regard, though it still took me a little trial and error. Anyway, I got it done in the end and it's all working now. I've had this for about 3 months now and had no problems with it since completing all the setup. This is the most I've thought about it in the last 90 days.

Purchased 3 units to connect 3 offices using IPSec & DDNS. Actual setup did not take very long, but does require the person doing it to have previous experience working with networking equipment to efficiently navigate the different configuration screens. Online resources were helpful but were not easy to find. Finding the right material to help configure the devices took the most time. Would like to have had mounting screw holes on the bottom of the unit like the previous VPN router had (Cisco RV042G). Had to purchase a separate mounting bracket to mount the TP-Link router to the wall in one of the locations.
