Solid upgrade but check your router first

This card delivers gets speeds on my Windows 11 machine, but only because I have a WiFi 7 router - wouldn't make sense to buy this otherwise. Antenna placement can be a bit fiddly to get optimal signal, and $70 (Feb 2024) feels a tad high, but the Bluetooth 5.4 support and tri-band capability make it worth it if you need the latest standards.

Solid card that runs well with Wi-Fi 6 and flies with Wi-Fi 7

I'm slowly upgrading my network to run over the Wi-Fi 7 protocol, but I haven't invested in a Wi-Fi 7 router yet since I have an existing expensive TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 router that needs to be depreciated for a bit longer. However, I was still able to test this card both under Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 (after borrowing a friend's Asus router). With my current WF6 infrastructure, using only 2.4+5Ghz bands, the card performs really well. I'm using it on a Windows 11 Pro desktop, and the installation was pretty smooth. I needed to visit the support site to get updated drivers, but that's a given with every new card. With no other major traffic on my 5Ghz network, I was easily able to cross the 1Gbit barrier. With the borrowed router that introduced a new 6Ghz channel and other optimizations, the card showed in-network speeds of over 2Gbits (since my WAN is limited to 1Gbit/sec). However, only devices upgraded with Wi-Fi-7 cards were able to observe this speed. You may also switch the Wi-Fi 7 setting to "On" in your Windows Networking settings. (Note that 6Ghz is not new to Wi-Fi 7, some Wi-Fi 6E routers and cards can also use this new band.) TP-Link is one of the reputable networking equipment brands, so I already had pretty high expectations from this card. I'm happy to report that I wasn't disappointed. Note that you also get the latest Bluetooth protocol when installing this card (and connecting the BT cable to an on-board USB port).

After a while it has become a nightmare

Edit: After further research it is very common for this wifi router to be good for the first few days and then have plenty of issues. The wifi router struggles to now wake up after sleep and on top of that there are plenty of times where the device is not recognized at a driver level. TP Link's drivers are quite terrible. Unfortunately if you are using an AMD CPU this is your only option for wifi 7 but I do not recommend anymore Good and stable - drivers were a bit annoying to install but so much more stable than the WiFi 6e card I had before

Blazing-Fast Connectivity: A Review of the TP-Link WiFi 7 Card

TP-Link has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality networking equipment to consumers at competitive prices, and their latest WiFi 7 card is no exception. This card offers a compelling upgrade for anyone looking to bring their desktop into the realm of cutting-edge wireless technology. Featuring the latest WiFi 7 standard, this card boasts multi-link operation capabilities (when paired with a compatible WiFi 7 router), promising blistering speeds of up to 5764 Mbps on the 6GHz band. While achieving these top speeds is dependent on your router and home environment, my own testing revealed a noticeable performance jump over my previous WiFi 6E card, even if I didn't quite hit the theoretical maximum. Beyond the raw speed increase, I was particularly impressed by the improved signal strength and stability. This card not only made my connection faster but also significantly more reliable, a crucial factor for demanding tasks like online gaming or large file transfers. Installation was a breeze, as straightforward as any standard PCIe card. It easily slotted into an available x1 or larger slot on my motherboard, and the driver installation process was quick and painless. As an added bonus, this card also integrates Bluetooth 5.4, including low-energy support. This allows you to seamlessly connect wireless peripherals to your desktop, a convenient feature for those seeking a clutter-free workspace. While this does require opening your computer case, the process is simple for anyone familiar with PC hardware. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a significant WiFi upgrade, this TP-Link WiFi 7 card is well worth considering. It delivers a compelling combination of speed, range, and stability, along with the added benefit of updated Bluetooth connectivity. If you're ready to experience the future of wireless networking, I highly recommend giving this card a try.

Covers both WiFi and Bluetooth in one device

If you're reading this paragraph, it's because I haven't yet fixed a problem I've been having with Bluetooth. On occasion, several times per day, my Bluetooth mouse will disconnect from my computer. This is a symptom that didn't happen with my previous TP-Link Bluetooth receiver, but may be a problem with my Windows software or even the mouse itself. I'll update once I figure out what's going on there. Otherwise, this has been a great WiFi and Bluetooth adapter with one caveat: There is a cord that runs from the card onto a USB header your motherboard; make sure you have that header available (or that it's not already in use, it's the same kind of header that's used to front/top USB ports on a desktop case). If you don't have that USB header available and thus can't plug that cord in, this card's Bluetooth will not function. Aside from that, I have no complaints. The WiFi has been as stable as Ethernet (as always, your mileage may vary depending on location of the WiFi router, location of your computer, obstructions between the two, etc). The Bluetooth has let me walk around my apartment with Bluetooth headphones and they haven't disconnected yet.
