Have been using on the inside of my home pointed outdoors through my toddler bedroom window, hasbeen working great!

This has pretty much the same features as more expensive ones. I would give this one a try. It’s a nice camera.

I had an opportunity to use this as my first camera other than my Nest Doorbell with my Smart home. To start, being wired, you are limited on where you can install this. I managed to have an outlet outdoors near my back patio, so I decided to mount it there to look over the backyard. Mounting was easy with a power source, but it will be a bit of a challenge if you don't have anything convenient. It says it's weatherproof, but I had it covered and protected from the elements, so I didn't get to test that out. Seems like it would hold up to most weather, but I wouldn't trust it to some of this Florida rain. Being covered, that helped with the video footage showing up clear. At 1080p, I got decent quality images, but I feel the night time feed could have been better. It became a little grainy with motion (a cat likes to frequent my backyard). It's livable, but there is better out there. Integrating with my Google Home wasn't the cakewalk I had hoped it would be. I think I may need bridge or a hub to make it work, but it was more of an effort than it needs to be. I would recommend using either Nest equipment or anything labeled 'Works With Nest' to have more of a seamless integration. I also didn't like that I would need to pay an additional subscription to unlock any of the features like saved recordings and history. I have too much subscription fatigue as it is. I might recommend this camera to something invested in the Hue family of smart devices, but know before you purchase that you'll need to go through some hoops if you're firmly in another camp. Unless you're a fan of making things work, then this might not be the solution you're looking for. in that regards, it's just ok. Nothing mindblowing.

I have integrated this camera into my household security system and would like to provide an assessment of its performance. I greatly appreciate the camera's specifications, including 1080P video, night vision, motion detection, two-way communication, and compatibility with the Hue App. Firstly, the camera delivers precise, high-quality video thanks to its 1080P resolution. This makes it easier for me to identify details. The night vision feature is also impressive. It provides clear images even in low-light conditions, making it highly effective after dark. The motion detection system is sensitive and accurate, promptly notifying me through the app whenever motion is detected within its field of view. However, the sensitivity settings needed to be adjusted to prevent false alarms resulting from passing vehicles or animals. Through this calibration, the system is now able to detect movements accurately and prevent any unnecessary interruptions or disturbances. The two-way talk feature works well, allowing me to communicate with visitors. This adds an extra layer of security and convenience. The installation process was uncomplicated; however, due to the wired nature of the camera, the placement options were restricted to the proximity of available power outlets. Despite the seamless integration of the camera with the Hue application, the user interface could be more convenient, which hinders the speed of accessing live footage or recordings. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy the current setup.

I'm a big fan of Hue lights, but this camera system is not great. Let's start with the camera, it's a weatherproof camera that requires a power outlet and wifi similar to the Ring. This can be both good and bad, but being a weather proof camera, that means you'll need to drill a hole outside to plug this in. You can plug it to an outside outlet, but someone can unplug it or snip the power cable. It's not very secure. The camera setup was a little painful, but not terrible. I initially connected it and it froze during the update so I had to go through the setup process again. If you see a green light, just go through the setup again and treat it as a blue light. The second time it was finally able to add the camera to the Phillips Hue app. If you lose the Hue Secure wired camera card it comes with then you'll be out of luck. Make sure you store that in a safe place or you'll have to contact support to access the camera. You can think of this as sort of a password. The camera itself can be mounted or sitting on a surface. The base is extremely heavy and stable. It uses a strong magnet to position and move the camera around which is very nice. The camera itself doesn't provide a constant recording stream. It only records motion with a minimum of a 10s delay in between. This is an issue with most of these cameras where they don't record continuous footage like a CCTV camera. These only record movement. So it's possible that movements are missed on occasion if they are back to back. In my test, I ran into an issue where some footage in continuous movement glitched and didn't get recorded. Again, this goes back to my notion of this isn't very secure. You'll also have to pay a yearly fee if you want a longer video history. Otherwise you'll onl yget live streaming and alerts. This doesn't have any support for homekit, so the only reason I can see you purchasing this is if you want automation. Hue automation with the bridge is top notch, however, you can do that with motion sensors. The hue secure platform is a big miss. Ideally it would send emails and there would be a website to view the footage, etc. Right now it's expensive and much worse than the Ring system. Personally, I like the Unifi system.
