Panasonic SRJMY108 5 Cup Electronic Rice Cooker/Warmer, Champagne Gold

Best rice I have ever had using my new rice cooker…a must buy for the rice lovers.

Stay Away from this model!!! I first purchased this rice cooker in February 2022. The rice cooker lasted exactly 1 year and it stopped working. There was no power to the control panel. I contacted Amazon and was referred to the manufacturer and was advised to take it in for repairs. I couldn’t find a repair facility in Winnipeg,Manitoba as the Panasonic repair depot doesn’t repair rice pots. I contacted Panasonic Customer Service and finally they decided that they would send me a replacement. I Received the replacement in April 2023. The rice cooker was supposed to have 2 year warranty on it. The second rice cooker lasted just under 1 year with the same issue of having no power to the control panel. Clearly this model has defective or low quality parts in it for 2 rice cookers of the same model to both failing under the 1 year mark. This is Panasonics “TOP MOST EXPENSIVE MODEL”. I contacted Panasonic Customer service and they are finding excuses not to warranty the rice cooker. All things are manufactured with a time life expectancy and I believe that it should have lasted longer than 1 year and if it fails the manufacture should repair it for you at no cost when there is 2 years warranty on it. Stay away from the Panasonic Brand and buy yourself a Tiger,Zojirushi,National,Salton,Black and Decker. They will all last longer than 1 year and Probably last you 10 years.

Replaces an older model and is doing well. Only peeve is that the cord is not retractable like the older version. Sleek design and the handle is handy.

Edit: March 2024 The inner pan only last for 2 years. Panasonic does not sell inner pan from their online store. Need to look for a new rice cooker. We had a Zojirushi 5 cup rice cooker for many years and finally it displayed an error on the display. The price of Panasonic rice cookers is generally lower than Zojirushi. I decided to give this a try. It takes 40 mins to cook the rice. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I like the rice cooked by Zojirushi a bit more than this Panasonic. Overall this is a good purchase. Hope this will last for many years.

Perfectly cooked rice everytime with all the types of rice presets I would want to cook. Made is Japan just seals the deal on quality as well.
