I wanted to try this because I know that Boom makes good quality web cams, and that's essentially what this is. This is an all in one solution for video conferencing, it has a camera, microphone, and speaker all in one unit. It sits upright and is about 10-12 inches tall. It looks a Wyze camera perched atop of a small soundbar (that was turned sideways). It is well made and solid but not heavy, it looks and feels premium. This Boom Uno is super simple to use, you don't need any sort of tech skills to be able to use it. You just plug it in to your Mac or PC and it automatically works, the main cable is five feet long but an extension cable is included in the box and it's six feet long. There is a green LED light that shines green when the microphone is on, and red when it's muted. You can adjust the camera angle slightly to allow it to tilt upwards, for when the camera is on a table and the subject is standing. There are three capacitive touch buttons for volume up, down, and mute. This is intended to be used in a professional setting where you would have up to half a dozen people on a video call with a number of other people. It has dual 360 degree, omnidirectional noise cancelling microphones that have dynamic noise and echo cancellation. I tested the mics on a single person to person video call and they did a good job of cancelling out background sounds like other people at my location and the noise of a fan. I'm not in an environment where I could truly test the mics to the fullest, but they seem to do a good job for the use case they were intended for. The Mic specs are: frequency between 100Hz-8000Hz, echo cancellation of 256ms, sensitivity 22dB@1kHz. The camera is full HD, 1080p with a maximum of 30 frames/second and it looks great (better than the one on my M1 Macbook Pro) and is able to capture a lot more detail and the image looks more properly exposed. I was able to spot a few stray, gray hairs in my mostly brown hair when I was looking at the live view of myself in Facetime on the Mac. The camera specs are as follows: sensor is CMOS (1/2.8), 2.1 Megapixels, 2.2mm focal length, with autofocus. The speaker is using a single driver, but the size is not listed in the data sheet on Boom's website. It can go up to 94 decibels and has a frequency response of 300 to 22KHz. The speaker sounds good for what it's intended for, which is people's voices. The people who I spoke with over FaceTime sounded really clear and crisp on the Uno's speaker. I think that most everyone will be happy with it, just remember it's not meant for streaming music on or anything like that (obviously). Boom says this is compatible with the following platforms: Zoom, Teams, Webex, Meet, Bluejeans, GoToMeeting, Skype Pros+ High quality, well made product Mics and Camera are solid, and much better than a laptop or entry level webcam Easy, plug and play solution for team meetings that requires no setup and works flawlessly LED to easily tell if the mic is muted or live No need to mess with using tripods or trying to balance it on a laptop or monitor Doesn't topple over easily, you would have to be trying to knock it down Cons- Camera can't be tilted down, and can only *slightly* be tilted up Perhaps a little expensive considering it can only do 1080p @30fps
