The remote power switch on this power strip is an excellent idea for applications where it may be prudent to power down the entire strip during storms or when you are going to be away for a while. I use this to power down my laptop and associated peripherals including external drives, external monitor, laser printer and label printer when I am going to be away for a few days.

Very nice and heavy duty, this thing worked out great! Remote switch made our lives easier.

The product quality seems really good as far as the way it is mechanical built. It has the feature that I want - the wired remote switch. It works fine. EXCEPT: It makes noises. It seems to be coming from surge protection circuit. They are not very loud but are constant and are annoying. The noises couple to the speakers of my PC. They makes an annoying backgound noise when my speakers or are on but nothing is playing. This means the power strip is generating electro-magnetic emissions - which it should not. I returned the unit for a replacement. The new unit has the same issue. This is probably a defect that is present in a certain lot of units produced - I can not imagine all behave this way.

This power bar with an on/off switch attached by a 9 foot cord was perfect for my application. I have several game systems (with network hub and HDMI auto switch) and wanted everything power completely off when not in use. With this surge protector I was able to have the power strip behind the entertainment system with just a toggle switch at the front of the cabinet. I am not a huge fan of TRIPP-LITE (for reasons beyond the scope of this review). With that said it was the only surge protector I could find with a remote power switch so I decided to give it a try. As I said above I am very happy with this product, it not only was a good solution to my situation but it feels very well made with heavy duty construction, heavy gauge wiring and of course all the specs they stated in the product description.
