Cable is well protected, comes with coupling screws, and worked from the start. Very pleased.

Not bad for price for only if used for a short term solution. My screen colors were severely impacted. All the colors have a slight yellowish tint when I use this cable. Since I only need the extension for one or 2 hours three times per month it is not bad. I suppose if you were good at color mixing, as in adjusting the color mix for your video card, you could make it work and get rid of the yellow. For my situation - skype lessons where I need to have my keyboard mouse, camera, and monitor moved form the desktop to the floor for a quick lesson for an hour, than move them back to the desktop, it it easier to just add the cable for the lesson and just deal with the slight yellowish color for an hour. Sometimes adding the cable changes my screen resolution, but that is an easy and fast fix. Compared to buying a laptop for my skype lessons, this is far far cheaper so for me it works. Plus my monitor is pretty big so a laptop would be a smaller screen as well. From the reviews, it appears this cable is good with some hardware combinations, OK with some hardware combos, and no so good with others. I suppose it all depends on the monitor and video card combination. If you add the cable cost plus shipping it is a pretty cheap gamble. I probably only spent about $30 total in video and USB extensions so am pleased despite the slight color issue.

This cable is exactly as described. It is an extension cable for a VGA connection. This means it has a male and female side. It is not an extra long VGA cable, which would have two male ends. I need it for teaching so I can move my laptop to the end of the podium. So far I have not had any signal issues.

I ordered this cable and a 6-foot version by StarTech: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000512IR. Both are male-to-female extension cables. Both are probably a little longer than I needed. Each came with a set of two nuts to attach to one end if desired. Both were Made in China. I tried the Tripp Lite version first since it was slightly longer. I didn't really need the extra length, but it seemed more versatile in case I need it in the future. So far it is working well with my monitor (a slightly older LG ~22" widescreen in a dual monitor setup) at 1680 x 1050 resolution. I actually have a DVI to VGA converter attached to my graphics card, this cable, a shorter regular (M/M) VGA cable, and then the monitor. So far no problems.
