Second monitor (VGA connection) doesn't work correctly under Ubuntu

I have one Dell 24" monitor (don't know model, is connected via DVI) and second Dell 24" monitor (model E2318HN, connected via VGA). My O/S is Ubuntu. It is highly likely that the product works for Windows but unfortunately it did not work for me. I found StarTech to be very good about it. They accepted my explanations, screen shots and photographs, and have organised a refund for the product, which I returned to Amazon.

Works great out of the box.

This works great for my desktop and business laptop. No problem at all to setup, and it works fine with my Logitech Unifying adapter for keyboard and mouse. Recommended.

It Works!

It took a while to get all the right cables and adapters but this item worked really well for me so far. I have a home desk computer, a work laptop in docking station, and two 19 inch monitors. I have an older dell keyboard, and a wireless mouse. I'm able to switch easily between home and work. I did have trouble with the laptop, getting the laptop display to disconnect so I could use just the two 19 inch monitors. After a bit of fiddling, it worked. The only think that I've not gotten to work yet is to share the printer, but that's something I'm not too worried about. I'm really happy with how it's working so far. It did take a little fiddling and a little research getting the right adapters. The other reviews were very helpful especially when discussing the DVI to VGA adapters--on my laptop docking station. Paying careful attention to the adapters was the most helpful tip for me. I'm so glad I was able to have two computers and ONE workstation. Now all I need to get is the perfect cabinet to house my printer, laptop, desktop and other stuff that clutters up the office space. Once I have that --I'll be all set!

Très satisfait du produit

Super content du produit, en parfaite adéquation avec l'attente que j'en avais. J'étais un peu septique concernant le clavier et la souris car c'est pack "Souris/Clavier" sans fil avec un SEUL récepteur "dongle USB2". Et.... tout fonctionne à merveille. J'ai donc bel et bien 2 tours PC, un seul clavier et une seule souris que je peux switcher sur 2 écrans (écrans bureau élargi qu'on appelle ça). Que du bonheur !!!! Et pour ne rien gâcher, ça m'a été livré en un temps record sans demande "express", hyper bien emballé. Top de Top ! Le rêve quoi !
