BenQ 5J.J7L05.001 Replacement Lamp for W1070/ W1080ST Projector

I have replaced my projector lamp at least twice over the years and knew it was getting time to do so again, so I went ahead and ordered one to have on hand. I tried to install the new lamp today, which was supposed to fit a BENQ model W1070/W1080ST. I tried maneuvering it several ways and could never get it to fit correctly. On closer examination, I determined the lamp was at least 1/4 inch too big and would not clear the housing in order to tighten the securing screw into place. This was supposed to be a BENQ-manufactured part – it is not!

Purchased the bulb on July 1st of this year.. This week, it went out.. less than 4 months of use.. Even if I used my projector 24/7.. that would be just under 3000 hours.. Do not waste your money on this bulb or company... When the price seems like it's too good to be true.. it is... :( Don't think I'll be ordering projector lamps from Amazon after this horrible experience.

I guess you get what you pay for. I babied this bulb for 7 months and then one day the projector would not turn on and the bulb light was on. Nothing else to do but buy a new bulb. The original equipment bulb lasted 3 times as long without the extra care. By the way, I have been using my original bulb for the past month while working on my theater and ordering a new bulb and it is still performing impeccably.

Avoid this bulb at all costs. The positive reviews sound just a little too canned to me, and the negatives hit my experience on the head. I put the new lamp in, it worked for about 2 minutes, and then the projector shut down. I figured I'd put the old bulb back in and run that (the old one was still functional, just getting on in hours) and the problem persists. I don't know if it's possible that a bulb can wreck the projector, but it's suspect that everything was fine before this bulb went in. Save yourself a headache and order direct from BenQ. It'll cost more, but piece of mind is expensive.

Works flawlessly, perfect fit in my BenQ projector! Well after only 2 months of operation, I began to notice the picture is dimmer, then got the "Bulb near End of Life" message on the screen at power-up. While this bulb is very easy to swap out, I would rather pay $300 for an original & only replace it once every 2 years, as opposed to paying $50 for this knock off & replace it every 2 months.
