On time delivery came as advertised, and saved myself a ton of money buy being able to buy this on line at a fair price

Similar to my 32GB RAM upgrade this was PURELY a storage capacity upgrade, which is working well enough for OpenSUSE MicroOS Project Aeon(and previously other OpenSUSE offerings) that I did NOT feel a need to benchmark it. It IS meant as a work machine, not a finely tuned racing machine although transfer rates are very good IIRC although I WILL decline to quote bandwidth as I did NOT screenshot and do NOT recall exact numbers but they were over 1TB/s locally, i.e. on notebook internal transfers, my servers are limited by server capacity and ether 'bandwidth' 1Gbps, plus switch capabilities...

I put this drive in an Orico B-keyed M.2 enclosure that will only accept sata ssd's. Read/write speeds were about 500 MB-sec. each. I was surprised to find that same capacity sata M.2's roughly sell at same prices as nvme's. Don't seem right somehow. Anyway, I have lots of other external drives for storage and backup, mostly WD hdd's ranging from 1 to 5 TB's. I've stuck with WD drives 'cause they're very reliable, last years longer than expected, and have decent warranty coverage. But, like most tech, they'll be replaced by more advaced devices as they become affordable. I have a feeling that M.2 product lifespan will be a fraction of hdd longevity. I imagine there are things in development right now that are set to push them out too. This drive is slow compared to nvme class drives, but even so, is more than 10 times faster than my trusty hdd's. It's also tiny and almost weightless comparatively, and won't destroy the data in it when I drop it or bump it while it's running. Also, they cost about the same now. Say goodbye to hdd's.
