Delivery and Shipping

Add some general information about your delivery and shipping policies.

The USB-C KVM Docking Station facilitates a dual-host, dual monitor 4K 60Hz workstation with two DisplayPort ports. Connect two USB-C laptops and select the target host device, using the toggle button. It features a 5-Port USB Hub, a Gb Ethernet port, and USB Power Delivery to charge the hosts and peripherals. Additionally, 3.5mm ports enable speaker and mic audio. The dock is DisplayLink Certified, for Plug and Display compatibility with Windows, ChromeOS, and macOS (supports mixed operating systems). DisplayLink technology supports extended dual displays on Apple M1/M2 MacBook which are not natively capable of driving more than one external display. The KVM docking station charges both host computers over USB-C, using Power Delivery 3.0. The dock supplies 90W of power to the active host and 45W of power to the host on standby.

Easy switching between MacBook and Windows

System seems really stable. With the touch of a button, my dual 4K LG monitors, Blue mic, and Logitech external camera easily switch at the touch of a button. I already had these working using 2 others docks using displaylink so it was as simple as just plugging things in. My favorite feature is that it also charges the non-active laptop with 45W while providing 90W to the active one. Both laptops seem to like that arrangement so the included power supply is all I needed.

Video issues

Did not work well with our set up (returned). Created video issues (laptop no longer recognized resolution of monitor). May not have been due to the item, but returned as it was way to expensive jot to work as anticipated.

Work fine, if the matching DisplayLink driver can be successfully loaded and worked. No EDID Emu

I have one M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14 and one 2019 Intel-based MacBook Pro 16. 1. each laptop connected required a matching driver for DisplayLink. M1 Pro MBP loaded the driver successfully and right after the driver loaded (no need to reboot the Mac) the video showed immediately on the two monitors. However, no EDID emulation and feeding, Can not work with clamshell mode while switching (switching with lid closed and switching back no video showed, -> have to open the lid again to have the video shown again). 2019 intel-based 16 MBP, after installing the driver and rebooting, still can find connected monitors on the system control panel - only can use shared keyboard and shared mouse. 2. no hotkey control for switching. 3. no EDID emulation and feeding to all connected systems/ laptops. 4. the type-C cables included are too short, if you have one 3440x1440 monitor and one 27-in 4K monitor setting side-by-side, putting the KVM/Dock unit on the center ( under the two monitors), then 3ft type-C cables are too short for connecting two laptops next to the shared monitors. 5. can only support up to 4K60hz and use DisplayLink redirect USB protocol which matches drivers for the OS versions of each connected system/laptop. 6. currently did not find drivers for Linux OSs. And fail in loading the driver for the 2019 Intel-based MacBook Pro. Final update: If it is for your work laptop systems that the corp IT does not allow loading /changing additional device drivers/ app/ configuration of the work laptop, then this is not recommended. Otherwise, this KVM + Dock solution may be the best of few existing KVM+Dock solutions can be found in the market.

FINALLY! Someone got it RIGHT@!

I'd been looking forever for some way to connect my Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs (both with Thunderbolt ports, to enable a single cable for both power and data) to two monitors, external microphone, webcam, speakers and other USB drives. After I pre-ordered it, I'ld been waiting patiently for nearly a week until just today, it finally arrived. All I can say is WOW... FINALLY! It comes with a single power supply that simultaneously provides 90 watts to the active laptop and 45 watts to the standby PC, keeping both charged at all times with no issues. Again to reiterate... ONE power supply powering the switch AND both laptops, and only ONE cable to each PC... THAT'S IT. (Besides the obvious cables to all the peripherals.) Switching can be done either with the button on the front of the KVM or; if you install the Startech.com Link software, via a hotkey (double pressing the left shift button twice in rapid succession.) AND; although slightly buggy (I've already spoken to their tech support over this) you have SIMULTANIOUS mouse and keyboard control over both computers, merely by moving the mouse over to one side or the other. (But the hiccup in my case is that it doesn't ever seem to want to leave the Windows 10 machine, whether that machine happens to be the active or standby machine.) Other than that minute item, everything works PERFECT and exactly as you would expect it to. Again... FINALLY and THANK YOU STARTECH!
