Bought this phone for my mother and she has been very pleased with the performance and battery life, it also takes vibrant and vivid photos and videos which is great for her since she is a cooking enthusiast and likes to take photos of all the food she makes.

Well, very robust, has an Otterbox for it separately sold, 50 Mpixel works as promised, low light photography is a Dream, takes 1GB SD card, very fast on web browsing from fast CPU. The charging of 2 hours could be faster. Has tons of configuration menu choices for fine tuning usage. Has all Google play app store choices as usual. Bluetooth solid. Is 30 percent cost of an iPhone. Samsung brand again comes through with a winner.

I bought this phone April 24, 2023. It is October 2023 as I write this review. For context, my last 4 devices were all Samsung. S9+ -> A51 -> S20FE, and now the A54. I found the A51 (previous version of the A54, 3 gens old) a big step down from my S9+. It was noticeably a tick slower to open apps etc. I find this A54 to be as good and fast as the S20FE I had before it. Reasonably fast performance - enough that I don't notice I'm using a mid grade device. Battery life is great, I have the "battery protect" feature always on, which limits the full charge to 85% to prolong battery service life. I almost never need to top off to get a full (long) day of average use. At bed time, I usually end the day with 20-35% left. I could squeeze 2 normal days out of it from 100 to 0 if I needed to. It charges fast too, usually at 18-21 watts (max specified speed is 25w) according to my meter. I do miss the convenience of wireless charging. You give that up when you go from Samsung's top shelf "S" series to the mid-grade "A" series with this device. I have always used a case, but have dropped it a few times and it has proven durable as I have no damage. Overall, I am very happy with the choice I made.
