ASUS TUF Gaming A1 External Dual M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD Enclosure - USB-C, SATA interfaces, M.2 Q-Latch for Easy Installation, Drop Resistance, IP68 Water and dust Resistance, PS5 and Xbox Support

First things first, yes these are not cheap but you get what you pay for. I have a Sabrent enclosure but it kept disconnecting from my device for no good reason. I needed something that wouldn’t disconnect and after much research came across the Asus enclosures and checked out multiple reviews, videos, etc. I purchased the Rog Strion first, then Tuf. Rog: I purchased this specifically because it had the C to A cable as well (the good vendors dont just sell them and there’s a bunch of junk that won’t do data properly). It is nice and fairly light for the material. The installation went smoothly (after I paid attention to how the top comes off and goes back). The lights are cool but my use case has it out of the way. The speed is great and no strange disconnects. I do have cooling fans in my little set up (multiple devices) so I can’t speak to it getting hot. Hopefully this will last forever. Tuf: I needed C to A for my first use (why I got Rog), but really wanted this. When it came on sale (along with the Crucial storage) I grabbed it for portable storage. This thing is heavy duty. Solid aluminum throughout. Installation was a breeze. Only time will tell, but from what I’ve seen this should keep working forever. I don’t plan on beating the crap out them so I may switch them around. Depends on how much I wanna see pretty lights.

Just bought 2 of ASUS TUF Gaming A1 nvme enclosure today and I also have ROG STRIX ARION for about 2 years with zero issues that's the reason why i purchased 2 of gaming a1 enclosure , It's little bit overpriced but I tried many brand of nvme enclosure they all have the same issues is keep disconnecting . I plugin my old ROG STRIX ARION with 970 evo plus 365 days without any problem that makes me think TUF A1 shouldn't be any issues . Well Built heavy good material I just installed samsung 980 (non-pro) to TUF gaming a1 and here is the screenshot for crystaldiskmark .

Pros: -This case is very thick and durable. It's some sort of metal and it's coated so it's not harsh to handle. -There is a thermal pad inside the enclosure so the m.2 is cooled evenly. -Great option for those who spend on ssds, and misplace/lose usb drives or thumbsticks. This enclosure is hefty, so you wont forget about it. Cons: -The case needs to be opened with the included allen wrench. If you lose it, you have to find or buy another one. -You need to carry around the type-c cable too. (I don't like additional accessories)

Tested on Macbook Air, Dell XPS9700 and Desktop PC (Aorus Z790 Elite AX). Copied a 1TB disk image file to the NVME case. Average 6.2-6.5 Gb/s (roughly 770-780 MB/s) according to the OS file manager. No disconnect, no slow downs. The NVME drive inside is nothing special. A Samsung EVO 970 2TB drive. The case dissipates heat nicely and it was toasty warm (bordering hot) to the touch. Definite Thumbs UP.
