VisionTek 2 Port USB 3.0 PCIe SFF Internal Card - 900598

I received this today after first trying to install the ORICO card (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0778MFB27/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which didn't align properly with the PCI-e slot, and was too tall for my SFF case with the Molex cable plugged in. The good news: this VisionTek card fits perfectly, with no special driver installation required, and in a head-to-head test, appears to be marginally faster than the USB2.0 ports on the front of my tower (40MBps vs. 32MBps while copying a 7GB file). The bad news: this card does not have anywhere to connect a power cable, despite the fact that the product images clearly show a Molex connector on the card, and a SATA-to-Molex cable. Ultimately, the card appears to work, and it's OK for the price, but I was hoping to have fully powered USB3.0 ports with the kind of 80-100MBps throughput that I'm used to on my laptop, and the performance of this card is lackluster at best. I'm really disappointed that the pictures appear to be a bait-and-switch.

This PCIe USB card is exactly the same as what Dell sells for my computer but a few dollars cheaper here. I have a Dell Inspiron 3655 desktop. It did not come with the power cord as shown in picture. That’s deceiving. However, my computer is setup for this connecting directly into the motherboard. Luckily I didn’t need the cord but it should have been included as the picture shows. Once installed I used the supplied CD with drivers to complete the job. Works great. My touch screen needs a 3.0 USB port for it to work. Only two 3.0’s I have are on the front of the computer. Looks funny with the USB cord hanging out the front. Now it’s all hidden in the back along with my wireless Dongle for my keyboard and mouse. Nice and tidy. Well worth the money.

The small bracket supplied does not fit the card. So I could not install it into my low profile Dell desktop
