Tripp Lite's 16-port NetCommander Cat5 IP KVM Switch is the optimal solution for remote control of multiple computers/servers by up to 3 (1 Local and 2 Remote) independent, simultaneous users. A single unit occupies a mere 1U of rack space, yet can control up to 16 directly connected computers. Connected computers/servers can be located up to 100 ft. from the KVM switch, with support for video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. A full-screen graphical OSD with multi-level authentication (Administrator and User) allows you to quickly and efficiently manage your installation. The OSD includes a range of settings for system configuration that allow you to add accounts, customize account access, install a SSL certificate, backup and restore system settings, upgrade firmware, and more. Accessing the connected computers is a breeze; a wide range of video and mouse sync settings ensure optimal remote session performance in any situation. In addition to ports for computers/servers, two serial ports are provided for the connection and control of serial manageable devices such as PDU's, firewalls, and routers. IP PDU's can be added as devices to be controlled by the KVM, and individual KVM ports can be assigned to a PDU port, giving you the ability to Power Cycle or Power Off/On the computer/server connected to that port. Other features include dual power supplies, dual ethernet ports, SNMP messaging, and a log that records the events that take place on the installation. Constructed of heavy-duty steel housing.

Red Haze After Year+ of Use

Worked for about 1 year and 7 months until a red shade appeared on monitor. Replaced monitor but still received red haze. I didn't purchase extended warranty so Tripp Lite could only provide troubleshooting assistance. No replacement as it's only 1 year mfg warranty. Not sure if I will go with this brand again. But I invested in alot of kvm cables.

Only works in IE

Only works in Internet explorer since that's the only browser that still has java plugins. Does not work in Linux at all. Amazon should really deal with the false advertising.

Nice! Almost there.

It works very well and I am overall happy with it. I bought it to test for usage at customer accounts. My only issue is that the software is completely browser driven and, due to security on the new browsers, it is very finicky to get going. They have a free windows download on their site, and tech support was very helpful and quick to show me to it. But it would be much better if it were just included on a CD or even an insert clearly showing where to go to get the app. Given the development of a windows app, a mobile app would be really cool too!

Money well spent

A bit pricey but worth it. Cables are expensive but the unit operates as advertised.

A lot of issues out of the box

It was relatively easy to install and I could connect to remote machines. However, it failed to achieve its purpose out of the box due to the following: 1) It came with firmware 2.1.1184.1.0. Trying to upgrade it v3.0.5.583 just fails with an error. 2) It's either too slow, or doesn't send the key strokes to allow you to intercept the boot sequence upon startup. It seems to have no impact. 3) The Virtual Media when attached is unrecognized when connecting it to a session running macOS. 4) As you know, when you change the screen resolution in the OS, a counter comes up after it applied the changes. The Tripp Lite Solutions Manager is so slow to refresh to the updated resolution, that more often than not, the OS counter expires and the screen resolution is reverted back to the original. In the end, I had to disconnect machines from KVM, connect them to a real keyboard, mouse and USB DVD drive to install and manage machines.
