TRIPP LITE 3-Port 4K HDMI Switch for Video & Audio, 3 in 1 Out, IR Remote Control, Mini 3-Port UHD

I use this for 4 different PCs connected to a single 4K (3840 x 2160 @60 Hz) HDMI monitor. This little KVM switch (HDMI Video without the Keyboard and mouse) is very inexpensive, and seems to be quite reliable. The trick to getting it to work properly (following the instructions) is to power everything down (Tripp Lite, PCs, monitor), and then power up the Tripp Lite, followed by the monitor and PCs. I then use a separate KVM switch for just keyboard and mouse, which is also quite inexpensive. Using this combination gives me a very low cost and reliable way to use a single, 4K monitor with 4 PCs. The Tripp Lite remembers the resolution settings, and will switch to the next device turned on, and so you don't even have to use the little remote control unless you are switch back and forth between PCs. The remote control works very well. Now, a warning: Do not use VGA or DVI to HDMI adapters, as they do not pass the necessary information for everything to work properly. Modern video cards generally support HDMI, so this really isn't a problem. I am using both, and they work satisfactorily. Another trick you may have to use to get set up is to connect the PC directly to the monitor, and make the settings on the PC, and get the video card driver talking directly to the monitor. Then, with that working to your satisfaction, connect the PC through the HDMI Tripp Lite switch, and the switch will work properly with the PC and the monitor. It takes a bit of patience to get it all set up, but now that I have it all working, it is an excellent way to provide an inexpensive way to connect 4 PCs to a high resolution monitor.

This is the third HDMI switch I have tired and the first one that works consistently. I first tried an inexpensive switch that didn't need to be plugged in, it never worked properly (video hits, lag and general non responsiveness...Then I tried a Techale switch, a little more expensive, and that worked for a few weeks but started to drop the signal for 10-20 seconds intermittently, which was very inconvenient. This switch is solid, feels good and just plain works. It was more than I had originally wanted to spend, but worth the cost as it switches instantaneously and holds the signal with no hits or dropouts. I am thrilled I spent the extra money because now my system operates flawlessly and seamlessly, so for me, it was money well spent.

Does work and on Auto But not without some issues. Read instructions well ! Learn what Auto mode can do and can't do ! Practice with it and the control switching between devices to learn what works best for you. Record your results and you won't be dissatisfied when its time to switch between devices.
