Bought it for the office and can’t be more happier. It has multi diamond shred which the papers are just little cubes and highly recommend for business or home use. Btw shredding around 500 pages a day for 3 weeks now with no issues at all.

We do a good amount of shredding around here, old bank statements, tax records, health records, work documents. We have an old shredder that's probably a lot less safe, but it's a real trooper and for it's small size it's pretty great for 10 minute bouts of shredding. We have shredding boxes at our office now that are professionally shredded, so I usually opt to use those as it's much less time consuming when shredding a big pile, but for those jobs where you need to do it yourself this works pretty good. It's a micro cut shredder which makes it more difficult for snoopers to piece documents back together. I'm sure those days are long past, but if you're concerned about it this is a good option for that. I tried several different stacks of paper, including some of the higher quality printer paper, and unfortunately about 12 pages was the most I could get in here. 15 would definitely not have gone through. With 12, it pushed through until the last 25% of the page and then stopped. It reverses the paper up and then you can put it back in again after a few moments, maybe for the machine to cool down. I had a big stack to do, I gave it a solid 10 minutes and it was smelling a bit like it was working hard, it advertises 240 minutes of runtime which is 4 hours, it could probably make it there with smaller stacks (like 8-10 at a time). Shredding envelopes can be a bit weird, I think the sensor is right in the middle of the shredder so you may get pauses in the shredding process if you didn't put something right in the middle. It also seemed to pause once in a while on staples. It is very quiet which is great, and the bin is really big which is also great, I don't have to empty it every 6 or 7 minutes like the little home shredders. I wish the touch buttons lit up better, we have the shredder in a more dimly lit corner of the room and when you stand in front of this blocking the light it's difficult to see the buttons. Overall a good shredder. P5 is also fairly confidential in terms of shred size, we are not worried about snoopers.

This is like the turbo tank of shredders – it will absolutely out-shred all the competition and you can apparently shred for four hours without a break without the machine overheating. I haven’t actually tested that claim since I don’t have a government agency knocking on my door nor that many sensitive documents on hand to shred but I have used a mid-line Staples brand shredder that overheated easily after 30 -40 minutes MAX and that’s with feeding it some easy shred jobs like 3 – 10 pages, not always maxing out at the maximum sheet capacity (15 pages). The shredder is also quieter in comparison and the tiny pieces it outputs makes it very unlikely that anyone would ever consider trying to piece the documents back together. It has the standard shredder features like reverse function when the machine jams and wheels make it portable so you can wheel it from one office to the other with ease. The other difference with this machine is that it supposedly can handle paperclips and staples. I can confirm that it chews through those easily but I’m wary to make it a habit as no doubt, this will dull the blades a lot faster! PROS + Shreds up to 15 sheets at a time (depends on paper thickness) + Can handle paperclips and staples (this will wear out the blades faster though) + Shreds sensitive documents into micro-sized pieces + Reverse functions allows you to un-jam machine easily + It boasts a 4 hours continuous run time – I haven’t ever shredded for that long but it can easily handle 45 minute shredding sessions without overheating + Large bin capacity (300 sheets) so you don’t have to empty out the collection bin as often + Pretty quiet so you won’t disrupt the whole office CONS - Might be overkill if you have just a home office

I blew out my back carrying it inside the house but it was worth it once I got to play with it. I was shredding junk mail, cardboard boxes and even the manual that came with the shredder. The quality of the shred is amazing, I've had less expensive machines that leave long strips to a a couple of inches but this Kensington is shredding into tiny pieces about 1cm long and only a few millimeter wide; there's no way you're recovering information from these documents short of hiring a professional company to sort through the pieces. I'm very pleased with it's performance. My main use for it is shredding boxes because I have a problem with hoarding Amazon boxes and then on recycling day it's a nightmare to break them down. Now I shred them immediately and it takes up very little space in my tiny blue bin. It's quick at processing boxes and hasn't jammed yet, the 15 sheet capability lends itself very well to cardboard shredding. I've only had one back feeding alert but the machine is going strong. It's big and heavy but glides smoothly on hardwood floors with the included wheels. I certainly recommend this Office Assist shredder to every one.
