This product is an amazing deal, as it allows you to take older legacy cases and put newer 3.5 inch hard drives in the system This allows you to repurpose old computers as a NAS without having to invest in new hardware, instead using an older PC that you have, (bought from Amazon of-course :) ) These sleds are made to be inserted from the front instead of from inside the case. Most older cases with 5.25 inch bays have a "Bay Cover" on the front, which is a plastic shroud to protect your drive. First you have to remove the bay cover to expose the 5.25" bay to the outside Secondly you mount the hard drive to the sled Then you slide the sled, from the outside, into the case, and optionally but the bay cover on. The product has a rectangle hole in the bay so you can slide the hdd into the adapter before or after the sled is installed, however I recommend installing it in before as it is easier. This product is a great value for the price, and is made from one continuous piece of plastic to make it stronger and last longer, this comes with the screws to install the sled into the case, but YOU will need to source the bolts for mounting the 3.5" hdd to the sled. Note: The sled uses screws to mount into the case, not bolts, this means that you must manually put the force in to drive the screw through a hole for it to install. This is not an issue when installing, but may affect the ability to reuse the product in another computer or even just remounting it in another bay.
