Validissimo

Great Brand, Exceptional Reliability

I purchased two 480GB Intel SSD's to use for a custom server's Operating System RAID 1 System drive. I have only owned one Intel SSD (530 Series SSD in my lifetime) and I have never had any complications with it. It's one of the longest owned SSD's I have used over the years and I have come to trust on Intel's products. I'm knowledgeable in building and troubleshooting custom builds as well as using the Apple Mac OSX (and pre-OSX), a variety of Linux as well as Windows Server, Home, and Professional (as well as have experience in DOS and Windows 3.1 / Windows for Workgroups in my career. I chose to stick with Intel because of their brand, reliability, and rugged performance. I would definitely purchase an Intel product again. I own 4 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU's that I still use in 4 old DDR2 based systems that still rock my socks off. Rather than parting with those systems, I put a few bucks into them and am still enjoying their processing power and reliability. At time things do wrong for system builders and troubleshooting comes in handy, but like all good PC Tech's, not giving up on something is a quality that's sought after by many professionals in many different types of careers - not to mention relationships (within reason of course ... why sticks around someone who just does not care?) Thank you for taking the time to read this review. Oh, in my experience with Server 2012, for years I have used a mirrored system volume of 100GB and without any other software installed at all (or minimal needed) 100GB is more than enough for updating, and installing a few applications. Hence, why I chose the 480GB SSD rather than other large capacity SSD's. On the system I'm currently building, i'm using the entire 480GB capacity as the system drive so I'll more than good.

These durable Enterprise Class (Data Center) SSD's make great boot/system drives for PC's

I opted to use this INTEL D3-S4610 Enterprise-Class (Data Center) Series 480GB SATA 2.5" SSD for the boot drive on my newest personal PC build. They are more reliable & have extra safeguards/features built into them to protect data from power-loss, premature failure, etc. compared to most conventional consumer retail SSD's. On my previous 2015 build I used the INTEL DC-S3500 240GB 2.5" SATA Enterprise Class SSD & it is still performing flawlessly in that system. Of course, they do tend to cost a bit more than regular consumer-edition retail SSD's. Listed below is my latest 1080p gaming, home/office & productivity PC build: - CASE - CORSAIR ICUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Mid-Tower (Black, x3 RGB Fans Removed) - FAN(S) - CORSIAR ML120 PRO 120mm Premium Magnetic Levitation PWM 4-Pin Fans (4 Total - 3 Front Intake & 1 Rear Exhaust) - PSU - SEASONIC PRIME Ultra 650W 80+ Platinum 140mm Compact ATX (SSR-650PD2) - MOTHERBOARD - MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX (ATX Form-Factor), Ryzen 3000 Revision Board w/Expanded BIOS - CPU - AMD RYZEN 3700X 8-Core 16-Thread w/Wraith Prism Cooler (Using Innovation Cooling Graphite Thermal Pad 40x40mm) - MEMORY - KINGSTON HyperX Fury 32GB (4x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL15 DIMMs (HX432C16FB3K2/16 x 2) - WIFI ADAPTER - ASUS AX3000 Next-Gen WiFi-6 Dual Band PCIe Wireless Adapter (PCE-AX58BT) - GPU - EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 TI SC ULTRA GAMING (06G-P4-1667-KR) - INTERNAL BOOT/SYSTEM DRIVE - INTEL D3-S4610 Enterprise-Class Series SSD (SSDSC2KG480G801) 480GB SATA 2.5" - INTERNAL SECONDARY DRIVE - WESTERN DIGITAL BLUE HDD 500GB SATA 2.5"
