This is by far the best security camera I’ve bought. I bought 3 of this model and ended up buying a one indoor, one outdoor pan/tilt version and a outdoor one tilt. All were super easy to pair, setup was about 5 minutes for each. The functions are great! I can check multiple cameras in seconds. Features I like are detection zones with sensitivity options, notifications per camera and you can set custom times, The app is not glitchy, I am able to easily recall recordings. I love that I can fast forward at different speed to see exactly what i need. I replaced all my other cameras with this line and am very happy i did.
This camera is a great deal. Paid $29.99 + $17 for micro SD. You don’t need to pay for the cloud storage and can still access your recordings and motion defections from within the app. I bought this because we have mice and I wanted to see if they were avoiding my traps. The night vision is very clear. The only downside is that the motion detection isn’t perfect. I had it at the highest sensitivity and it wouldn’t pick up a mouse moving and getting caught in a trap
I like these IP WiFi cameras because they are CHEAP and they have RTSP stream available natively. In testing, I found that they lost signal less often than the other cheap cameras I use, Yi Cam Home, which I had to flash with custom firmware to gain RTSP stream functionality. The downside, is that installing them on the side of a window means that they stream portrait instead of landscape. The YI cameras had a round case that could be rotated inside the base to any orientation. But the Tapo cameras can only go in one orientation. If you install them sideways, then they are in portrait mode. Surprisingly, this affects AI detection if one uses them with Blue Iris or Frigate.
Shipping was fast! Camera was honestly very easy to set up and get connected to! You can pay for the monthly or yearly subscription for it to record , I personally just leave notifications on this works well for me! You can manually record too! The motion dictionary is amazing too because it will say object or person! Also very easy to adjust so you can get the angle you want , the definition is overall very good especially for the price point. The camera it's self is also not huge and bulky it can be put pretty much anywhere. There is also night vision that also works very well. I have to say over all for price point this is an amazing option because most cameras will give you a run for your money but this one is very affordable. The only thing I would have to say I don't love is the sound it's sometimes very quiet and very like choppy kinda like your talking in an old walkie talkie. But having the voice thing is overall just an added bonus. The app is very easy to navigate and use also always having access to the live feed and you can have multiple cameras set up under the same account to. 10/10 recommended especially for the price point.
I had something happen between two videos that was about 20mins apart and the camera didn’t pick up on the movement even though the incident happened in a spot where the camera should have seen it. I have noticed this several times before and it’s quite annoying because I’m unable to determine what happened However, the videos the camera takes are good in both day and night vision.
